At Factory Of Us, we acknowledge the urgent need for a paradigm shift in the furniture industry, driven by uncontrolled production and unconscious consumption, resulting in the rapid degradation of our planet from the past to the present. The denial of this reality has become unacceptable. The prevailing fashion mindset, motivated by conventional greed, has ingrained itself within us. This insatiable greed perpetuates continuous waste production, culminating in the disposal of product life cycles in landfills. What follows is an even greater debacle. Waste is contaminating our waters, poisoning our soil through burial, and polluting our atmosphere through incineration, progressively poisoning our world.

The fundamental cause of this vicious cycle lies in the fashion-driven consumption and the need for constant change.

Betül KARACA

FOUNDER / CEO

After solidifying her project vision through international travels, Betül Karaca leveraged her expertise in interior design and furniture, aiming to mitigate environmental impact through sustainable furniture production. With a master's degree in Sustainable Furniture Design, her background includes working with furniture manufacturing and sales companies like Enne Mobilya, Form Laminat, and Natuzzi. She has also executed boutique projects worldwide and undertaken corporate identity design for companies like RS Otomotiv Grubu. Now, she is taking the step to bring her vision to life with this initiative.

Fatih YILDIRIM

COO

Fatih is a lifepreneur known for conscious leaderhip, creative entrepreneurship, and sustainability. He founded the largest event guide, Partymag APP, and the creative event agency What IF. He acquired these companies in 2023, and his passion for sustainability led him to establish the sustainable fashion brand Redesign Club, as well as co-found the eco-friendly furniture project, Factory of US. He also works as an advisor for the holistic wellness app, ANQA.

Mehmet KOCAMAN

CTO

Mehmet is a professional with more than 15 years of leadership experience in telecom, networking and next generation technologies industry. He has worked as a regional manager for global companies such as Ericsson and ZTE. He founded TBS LAB with the vision of making complex technologies understandable and accessible to the masses. He is currently involved in 3D printer production, technology education design and innovative lab projects. He is also the co-founder and technical leader of Factory of US.

Esra YILDIRIM

DESIGN INTERN

As a 4th year student in the Interior Architecture department at Istanbul Technical University, she is currently interning at Factory Of Us, focusing on design. Simultaneously balancing academics and work, she engages in voluntary activities with organizations such as the Turkey Design Foundation (TTV) and İHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation. Additionally, she pursues education in the field of social sciences (history, philosophy, sociology, aesthetics, psychology etc.) at İlmi Etüdler Derneği (İLEM) and has contributed 4 articles to the İLEM Blog.

Işıl YENİCESU ÖZTÜRK

R&D

Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry from METU, specializing in epoxy and acrylic research, UV studies, and a background in laboratory product development. Extensive experience in international chemistry congresses and events.
